Dogs love Christmas!

Dogs love vacation.

Mommy has taken me on a trip. Usually, I watch her pack my stuff, and try to figure out if A, I'm going to Auntie Amy's House of Dog Fun, or 2, some fun place with Mommy. This time, it was hard to tell, but it ended up that I was going along with Mom. We left really, really early in the morning, because Mommy was watching the Magic Box and it said there was a lot of snow coming. Mommy said some curse words, and off we went. Really, really fast. We made a few stops first, to get some special items we should have gotten a few days before, then we were on the road. We got to Auntie Karen's in record time, since no one else was driving on the day of a blizzard. And then came the snow. And Hanukah. I got a present! Here are some pictures Mommy took. I had to oversee some snow removal, and I spend a lot of time hanging out with Maggie, who did not get a Snuggie for Hanukah, so she covets Dana's. I stole ham out of the garbage and got in trouble (geez!!!) but I take myself out across the street after breakfast and dinner. Yesterday, I held it for 6 hours until the driveway was cleared. I'm a dog, not a polar bear.

I love CHEESE!!

I don't get to help Mom cook, ever. My sister baked a cake once, but I don't seem to have the ability to cook stuff. I taste things, though. Once, Mom brought me bacon flavored popcorn, and I got to watch it blow up in the microwave and then I got to eat it. It was pretty darn tasty. Sometimes, if I'm very lucky, and a really good dog (No chicken fat, no! Bad dog!) Mom will let me taste a thing or two. She's been making these ridiculous sandwiches for two days, so I've been smelling the bread baking (I LOVE BREAD) and smelling the pork roasting (I DON'T KNOW IF I LOVE PORK. NOT ALLOWED) and just keeping a close eye on the goings-ons. Tonight, I hit the mother load. Apparantly, the sandwiches are for today, and as I was sound asleep I heard Mom say, "Who wants to taste the cheese?" I was in the kitchen before I was awake. Super Taster #3. That's me. It was yum.

I love a party!

Mom had a Halloween party and it was really fun! I got to sniff everyone's costume and ate some treats off the floor. At the end of the night, they all started dressing me, even though I had already won a prize for my costume (I was a cat) and put red shoes on me, then some devil horns, then a wig, then fairy wings. Of course, I sat like a good dog the whole time, so everyone could take pictures. Maybe I should get a FaceBook page! All the cool kids are doing it.

House Fetch....

Mom invented a cool new game. I'm so bored I'm like a cat. I sleep. I wash my foot. I eat. I poop. I look at the rain. I sit on Mom. Only thing I can't seem to figure out is purring- but I can make some other sounds. I get yelled at for them, though. Mom's a b*tch. Anyway, tonight when Mom got home from abandoning me yet again, she invented a new game when she realized I am close to my dog breaking point from Williams Drive Fever. (It's like the cabin kind, but no bears or avalanches.) House Fetch! It's the best game EVER!!! First, I carry my favorite toy around, and Mom pretends to be afraid of me when I growl. Then, she chases me and gets me to give her my toy, and she flings it up the stairs. I leap up all the stairs at once, get my toy, and leap down all the stairs at once, jump on the couch, over the coffee table and onto the chair. Of course, I make deadly dog growling sounds and Mom has to chase me and get my toy so we can do it all again. For the first time in a week, I actually had to lie down and rest after about 20 minutes of House Fetch. It's very rigorous. Uh, oh.... here she comes.... gotta go!!

Stupid Rain!!

This has been a longgggg week. Mommy is working a lot, and Day Care was closed for vacation, so I have been lonely and bored. Yesterday, we were supposed to go to Plymouth for the Doggy Waterfront Festival, but it RAINED. And RAINED. Mom had to open the pool filter and leave it open all day so the pool wouldn't overflow. Maybe that's what flooded the basement! Has anyone seen the sun?

Ugh.

Mommy has gone back to running. Great plan. It's only one million degrees out, and I can't deal. Of course, she drags me along. I hate Mommy. So, I licked this mushroom to freak her out. That was fun.

Tired today...

I'm tired today. I didn't wake up for breakfast (dog food) and then, I just slept on the couch all day. Mom is starting to worry. I went outside for a little while, but I just slept in the grass (weeds) in the back yard. I didn't even get in the car to go to school today. I ate my dinner (dog food) and then went back out to sleep some more. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow.

I love the fat!

I ate a whole hunk of chicken fat out of the garbage on Saturday. I got yelled at and a swat on the butt. Mom never hits me, so I guess it was pretty bad. I farted it up all night long. Yee-ha!!

Maggie and Max

Here are my cat cousins. I probably won't meet them because they are afraid dogs (stupid cats) but they read my blog and write stuff here once in a while. They look fun to sniff and chase....

Happy Easter!

Don't forget to stop and smell the Easter Flowers!

Those darn squirrels!

There is a squirrel in my yard, and he eats all the bird food! Even though I spend most of my day chasing him away, he always comes back. Mom took this picture of him, instead of letting me out right away so I could catch him, and he got away AGAIN! I don't like squirrels! They always see me coming, even if I am sneaky, and they run up trees where I can't get them very well. Of course, I try pretty hard....
There he is again... I know I'll get him this time.

Just some stuff.

I was smelling something fun.

And then I had to run away!

Ear Snuffle- rare photos.

Here is me doing the ear snuffle. It is very hard to get a picture of this, just like a Polar Bear giving birth. Mom was able to sneak up on me with the camera, but she only got two shots before I realized this secret dog ritual was being documented. I can get thrown out of the Dog Ear Snuffle Club for that. The last picture is me being embarrassed that I got caught. I hope my friends don't see this. Mom doesn't care what people think about her antics, but I have a reputation to uphold.

Mommy tried to kill me, then she saved me!

Tonight was pretty scary! I was just being a dog, sleeping off a day of running all around with my dog friends, and Mom called me into the kitchen. She had a treat for me, so I scarfed it down, which is what I do, I am a dog, after all, and then I started to drool. I don't usually do that part. Mom was watching me, because I was walking around, acting all weird because... my treat was lodged in my throat and I couldn't get it out. Mom looked at me, then bent over, opened my mouth (not fun) and looked inside. Then, she shoved her whole hand in my mouth and grabbed my unchewed "treat" out of my throat and threw it on the floor. Unfortunately, she was faster than me, and she picked it up and threw it away before I could eat it. Darn. Stupid Mom. Coulda killed me. But then she saved me, so I guess it's ok. I need a nap.

Here's how I would look with a tail!

Elmo

My brother, Elmo, disappeared in July. At first, Mom didn't think much of it, because he is a brave cat and he would stay away for days and days. Me, I need my dog food, so I make sure I stay close by. But Elmo would go away for longer and longer until one day, he just didn't come home anymore. We looked around and asked the neighbors if they had seen him, and some said yes, and some said no, (that was confusing!) but we haven't seen him at all. Sometimes I run out in the morning and sniff around for him, and we saw some big cat feet prints in the snow, but no Elmo. Mom says every once in a while a red cat runs out in the street in front of her car at night, but when she gets out, it disappears into the woods. I think if that was my brother, he wouldn't run. He loved mom. So, we miss Elmo. Mom has dreams about him a lot, and she wakes up and tells me about them, but they are confusing and I don't always understand. I just lie there and listen to her and wag my tail a little or give her a kiss if she's sad. I lost my other brother, Hobbes this year, too. But that was different, he had a good, long life and Mom and Dad were with him when he died. It was sad, but we know where he is. (He's on a shelf next to my sister, Molly. Now, that's just weird.) It's worse with Elmo. Does he have a new family? Is he happy? Did he make the right choice leaving us to go somewhere else? Doesn't he love us anymore? Maybe he'll come back and tell us one day. But I guess, probably not. We miss you, Elmo. Hope you're fat and happy and living the life.
